The Wardrobe – Welcome
In this modern Bluebeard fairy tale, Justine embarks on a glamorous life with her new lover, Henri. Shopping sprees and beauty treatments slowly turn her into his perfect woman – just like the mannequins he keeps in the attic.
The Wardrobe (14 minutes, 35mm, color) is a Columbia College Chicago MFA thesis film written and directed by Jennifer Peepas and produced by Dimitri Moore. The screenplay is adapted from Danielle Wood’s short story collection Rosie Little’s Cautionary Tales for Girls.
Wardrobe News
We completed production 10 months ago, and are in the final stages of post-production (titles, credits, color correction, and original music by composer Nick Monteleone). We were awarded some finishing funds from the Albert P. Weisman Memorial Scholarship Fund, which allows us to master the film in high-definition. We’re trying to make some early September festival deadlines and will announce fall screenings soon!
In the meantime, please check out a selection of production stills, here.
